Dear Students,

At the beginning of the new academic year, I extend my warmest greetings to all of you on behalf of the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb. I especially wish to welcome our first-year students who are entering the academic world for the first time and becoming members of our academic community. Your arrival marks a new beginning, new challenges, and an opportunity for us to build the future together.

The Faculty of Croatian Studies is founded on the idea of an interdisciplinary approach to knowledge, in which demography and Croatian diaspora, Croatology, communication studies, philosophy and culturology, sociology, Croatian Latinity, history, and psychology complement one another and form a meaningful whole. Our goal is not only to educate you as experts in your fields, but also to shape you into responsible, critically minded, and engaged individuals who are ready to serve society and contribute to the preservation and development of Croatian identity and culture.

Entering university marks a turning point in every young person’s life. You are embarking on a path where you will learn, develop your abilities, explore, and discover your own interests. Along this path, you will be accompanied by our dedicated professors and associates, eager to share their knowledge and experience, and to support you in your personal and academic growth.

I invite you to live your studies actively — to take part in student life, projects, and initiatives. The Faculty is not only a place of lectures and examinations, but also a space of friendship, collaboration, and the creation of lasting memories.

To our first-year students, I wish joy and courage as you begin this new chapter of your life, and to our senior students, a successful continuation of your academic journey. I believe that through our joint efforts, we will make our Faculty an even more distinguished place of knowledge, openness, and community.
