Assoc. Prof. Andreja Sršen, Ph.D., delivered a presentation entitled “Environmental Security as a Wide Concept in Sociology” at the international conference on sustainability, “The 11th World Sustainability Forum (WSF11)”, held in Barcelona.
In her presentation, Professor Sršen introduced research that connected the new climate change adaptation strategy with the concepts of environmental policy and practice in the context of security challenges. Within the framework of globalization, climate change and environmental security have emerged as key challenges for contemporary societies. The paper explored the interrelation between environmental security and new strategies for climate change adaptation, analyzing how these two concepts shape environmental policies and practices.
The aim of the conference was to provide an interdisciplinary perspective on urban resilience, ecological sustainability, and related risks, with a clear emphasis on fostering partnerships and leveraging innovation to achieve social impact within the community.
