Cooperation Agreement Signed between the European Parliament Liaison Office in Croatia and the Faculty of Croatian Studies

On 21 January, a formal handover ceremony of the signed Cooperation Agreement between the European Parliament Liaison Office in Croatia and the Faculty of Croatian Studies of the University of Zagreb for the current academic year was held in the Great Council Hall of the Faculty of Croatian Studies. The Agreement was signed by the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dario Vučenović, PhD, and the Head of the European Parliament Liaison Office in Croatia, Ms Maja Ljubić Kutnjak.

The Agreement enables students enrolled in the courses “Policies of Sustainable Development of the European Union” and “Institutions of the European Union”, taught by Assoc. Prof. Andreja Sršen, PhD at the Department of Sociology, to attend workshops and lectures and to become acquainted, in a practical way, with the work of EU institutions and EU strategies focused on building resilience.

In the current academic year, a new teaching venue for these courses was introduced for the first time at the Europa Experience centre. In this modern space, featuring visually attractive and specialised content about the European Union, students were able to participate in an educational role-playing activity through a simulation of the work of Members of the European Parliament.

The Agreement thus marks the completion of another cycle of high-quality cooperation in teaching that had already existed at the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Croatian Studies and has proven to be an attractive and beneficial form of instruction among students.
